Have a great photo of your dog? It could win your dog some fame and you some cash.
Each year, the travel company AAA publishes a guide for pet-friendly travel called Traveling With Your Pet: The AAA PetBook. And each year, they hold a contest to find 2 photos of pets to be included in the book. This year, one will be on the back cover and the other will be on the book's spine. The 2 photos, plus 40 runners-up, will also be included in a layout inside the book and on the book's website.
Want your dog's photo to appear on bookshelves across the country? Here's how you enter:
• Choose the photo you want to enter. It needs to represent the joy of traveling with a pet as well as pet travel safety. In addition to these traits, the photo will also be judged on artistic qualities.
• Go to the contest website. Download the entry form, which asks for details on the photo, where it was taken, and other relevant info. At the site, you can also see previous winners for inspiration.
• On the same page is a link to the official rules. It has the email address where you need to email your photo and submission form. You can also enter by mail; full details are in the official rules.
And that's it. Photos can be submitted until November 30, 2011. In addition to having their photo in the book and on the website, the first place winner will receive 5 copies of the book, treats, $300, and a $150 Best Western travel card. The second place winner will get 2 copies of the book, treats, and $150.
Will you be entering? If you have great photos from your last trip, or have a trip coming up when you can take some photos, be sure to enter them in the contest.
