Salmonella Poisoning: How To Prevent It And What To Watch For

Salmonella can make both humans and animals sick just by coming in contact with the bacteria. This means you should wash your hands carefully after handling recalled products. You should also thoroughly wash any storage containers or bowls that came in contact with the contaminated treats. People and dogs with weakened immune systems, such as children, elderly people, or dogs who have recently had surgery, are at higher risk of sickness if they come in contact with salmonella bacteria.

If you have any of the recalled treats, make sure you know and can recognize signs of salmonella poisoning. They are similar for dogs and humans.
